The hidden unregulated chemicals that are polluting your vapes.

While the switch from traditional cigarettes to e-cigarettes, or vapes, has offered smokers a potentially less harmful alternative for their habit, the rise in popularity of vapes has led to the mass production and consumption of unregulated and illegal vapes, many which don’t meet Australian TGA standards. This means that users may not know what is in their vape and subsequently be consuming products that could be dangerous to their health. This makes it ever more crucial for users to prioritize quality in vape products.

What is e-liquid?

E-liquid is the liquid substance inside of an e-cigarette or vape which vaporises when heated by a battery operated vape device. It is then ‘vaped’ or inhaled by the user. E-liquid may contain nicotine, propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, or glycerol. However, there are some companies selling e-cigarettes containing harmful substances such as formaldehyde,  chromium, aluminium, arsenic, copper, lead and nickel. Other hazardous chemicals that have been found in the e-liquid include organic compounds that are common in paint and cleaning products, damaging ultrafine particles and 2-chlorophenol.

Does the quality of e-liquid matter?

Make no mistake, the quality of the e-liquid found in vapes definitely matters. Given the number of dangerous additives found in some of the unregulated and illegal e-cigarettes or vapes sold in Australia, it is crucial that users prioritize quality in vape products by sourcing them from a legal prescription service such as Help Me Stop

Well documented research into the composition of e-liquid across many vape products reveals thousands of unidentified chemical ingredients, including several potentially harmful substances such as caffeine, three industrial chemicals, a pesticide, and two flavorings linked with possible toxic effects and respiratory irritation. There is also some evidence that the 2 main ingredients found in all e-liquid products – propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine – may pose potential harm for users. The labelling of nicotine in vapes can also be inconsistent and inaccurate, which can result in harm to users (such as headaches, nausea) when the presence or dosage of nicotine is not labelled correctly.

Why choose aiero?

90% of the vape products that have been available over-the-counter in Australia are made overseas. Even though it is now illegal to buy over the counter without a prescription, there are still a number of vape brands circulating that don’t meet Australian TGA standards. So searching for a quality vape brand is essential. aiero is a vape that is dispensed through Help Me Stop that sources the highest quality and flavourful vape e-liquids that exceed Australian TGA standards and safety guidelines. Sourced from premium suppliers in Europe, including nicotine from Switzerland, aiero offers users a better quality experience when vaping.

aiero also provides the opportunity to choose the nicotine and flavor content of your e-cigarette or vape, which allows you to moderate and potentially decrease your consumption of nicotine over time, thus aiding in smoking cessation as well. aiero’s wide range of flavours ensures there is a flavour for everyone, from raspberry cookies to smooth tobacco. And you have the peace of mind with aiero knowing that their additives are sourced from the highest quality ingredients.
